Uplift

The mission of Uplift Education is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential and inspire a lifelong love of learning, achievement, service and responsible citizenship. Each school provides free college preparatory education in a community that has limited high quality public education options. Our goal is to completely CLOSE the achievement gap between students, regardless of their ethnic or socioeconomic background, while ensuring that 100% of our students graduate and enroll in college. The Foundation has provided the lead gift for Laureate Preparatory Secondary School. This campus, located in Downtown Dallas, will have 960 students from 6th through 12th grades. Our ultimate goal is for all of these students to attend and graduate from college.

Aids Services of Dallas

ASD provides not only a home, but also a foundation of hope through medical services, meals, education, counseling and community. The 125 units provide up to 225 men, women and children with a home. All residents share a common bond, that their life has been affected, in some way, by AIDS. The Foundation initially supported ASD through prepared meals for the residents. We continue our support because of all the amazing things ASD does to improve the quality of life for their residents.

Texas Tech Endowed Scholarship

We funded our first scholarship in 2005 and have been able to increase our endowment over time to be able to award a Presidential Scholarship in the fall of 2010. This type of scholarship will allow Tech to attract the best quality students and it will be awarded for a period of 5 years if the recipient continues to qualify. We are currently working to fund a second Presidential Scholarship.
