The mission of Uplift Education is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential and inspire a lifelong love of learning, achievement, service and responsible citizenship. Each school provides free college preparatory education in a community that has limited high quality public education options. Our goal is to completely CLOSE the achievement gap between students, regardless of their ethnic or socioeconomic background, while ensuring that 100% of our students graduate and enroll in college. The Foundation has provided the lead gift for Laureate Preparatory Secondary School. This campus, located in Downtown Dallas, will have 960 students from 6th through 12th grades. Our ultimate goal is for all of these students to attend and graduate from college.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society

St Vincent de Paul (1581 – 1660) was a catholic priest who was dedicated to serving the poor. The local chapter at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Dallas helps the poor and those in temporary need. It is a volunteer organization, so 100% of all proceeds goes to provide assistance to the needy. The Foundation supports the Christmas Fund that provides basic needs to families during the holiday.

Notre Dame School of Dallas

The mission of Notre Dame School is to provide a quality education to persons with mental disabilities and to facilitate their integration into society. In a recent visit to the school, the outpouring of love and passion by all the teachers and faculty was obvious. We also attended their annual event, An Affair of the Heart, their annual event is a wonderful way to see all the students and support the school.

Aids Services of Dallas

ASD provides not only a home, but also a foundation of hope through medical services, meals, education, counseling and community. The 125 units provide up to 225 men, women and children with a home. All residents share a common bond, that their life has been affected, in some way, by AIDS. The Foundation initially supported ASD through prepared meals for the residents. We continue our support because of all the amazing things ASD does to improve the quality of life for their residents.

Winners for Life Foundation

After witnessing all the hard work and passion of Donny Anderson, it is very easy to support this organization. Winners for Life Foundation inspires, encourages and guides at-risk teenagers and helps them set goals in life. It provides 50 scholarships to students across the United States and gives the recipients a second chance.

Texas Tech Endowed Scholarship

We funded our first scholarship in 2005 and have been able to increase our endowment over time to be able to award a Presidential Scholarship in the fall of 2010. This type of scholarship will allow Tech to attract the best quality students and it will be awarded for a period of 5 years if the recipient continues to qualify. We are currently working to fund a second Presidential Scholarship.

Dallas Zoological Society

The Dallas Zoo is an outstanding facility that promotes education, entertainment and wildlife conservation. The zoo enhances our community and demonstrates the importance of mutual responsibility for the future of all life on earth. The zoo provides great educational opportunities for kids and adults.

Our Friends Place

There are only a few organizations in North Texas providing care and support to at risk girls and young women. For over 20 years, Our Friends Place has been breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness by supporting these women and allowing them to achieve ultimate success.

Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry

The Soup Kitchen Ministry was established 25 years ago to provide hot meals for those in need. On a typical day, the kitchen feeds about 130 individuals and this number almost doubles during the holidays. Jason and Nancy Ivy, who rely on personal donations to keep the ministry funded, operate the ministry.

YWCA “My Own Place”

My Own Place is a two-year transitional living program for girls existing in the foster care system that are homeless or without family support. Most of these girls have an extensive history of abuse or neglect. My Own Place provides counseling, mentoring, career counseling finance and life skills education. The program can house 28 young women.

The Matejek Family Foundation encourages support for all of these charities. Please contact them directly to contribute.
